1. The technology behind the smart meter used 100 percent

The smart battery storage brAIn is part of the delivery point, installed behind the smart meter, or intelligent threshold electricity meter. What is important is that it is customized for each customer, taking into account their 2 text: consumption diagram), and also the diagram of electricity production, if available.

Thanks to this, we can utilize its capacity at 100 percent, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ROI is thus much faster compared to conventional battery storage. For high-capacity storage, we can achieve a return of 2.4+ years.

2. Fully automated control system (Energy Management System, EMS)

The heart of the brAIn smart battery storage is the EMS energy management system. The system was developed on our proprietary mosAIc software platform and controls the battery storage via the FUERGY Control unit.

The EMS performs many essential tasks. It monitors the current situation at the customer site and in the whole power grid, weather forecasts, the development of energy prices or solves interruptions in the supply of electricity. **It is the EMS that decides how much electricity and from what source the brAIn will store or release, in such a way that it is beneficial not only for the customer, but also for the power grid. Thanks to the EMS, the brAIn storage can better manage locally produced energy and help stabilize the grid in exchange for a financial reward.

Last but not least, the EMS also charges and discharges the batteries as gently as possible, thereby extending their lifespan.

3. Backup power source and UPS functionality

A portion of the brAIn’s battery capacity can also be used as a backup power source or UPS, which provides protection in the event of both micro and longer-term power outages. This is possible thanks to the fact that a certain part of the total storage capacity is constantly charged and is not included in the provision of non-certified ancillary services. When allocating a part of the capacity, however, it must be considered that the battery storage will generate a lower financial effect and thus its payback period extends. FUERGY does provide this functionality, but it must be taken into account that this is at the expense of the financial effects we can generate.
